A Commons
Building containing a large Café, Lounge areas and a 350-seat divisible
Meeting Room anchors this residence hall and provides a comfortable
gathering place as well as a visual centerpiece for residents on the
Kelly and Roosevelt Quads. The lighting of the dormitory spaces,
offices, seminar rooms and all other public spaces was designed to match
the playful, contemporary style of the architecture while meeting the
challenges of a residential college environment. The project is
pursuing LEED - NC Gold certification, and the lighting was designed to
minimize the impact of the energy package. Exterior building and
pathway lighting provide a bright, welcoming approach to the building.
