Sunset residence was designed to take the advantage of the breathtaking views of the site, with views stretching from Downtown Los Angeles to Catalina Island. Hovering above the Sunset Boulevard, the 12,000 SQ FT contemporary house was created to accommodate the lifestyle of the star.
The first floor was designed as an open space plan, which seemingly blends to the rear yard with the help of motorized pocket doors. The great room features a fireplace and a corner bar with a pass-through window to an expansive loggia. The great room flows to a formal dining area and a gracious family room than spills into a kitchen with an eat-in Calacatta marble slab island.
The design of the basement level was aimed to create a space filled with natural daylight, and to create an entertainment level. Adjoining to the main living room area, flooded with daylight through the sky court, is the temperature-controlled wine room and a bar area. The basement also includes a theater, a fitness studio with an attached dry sauna and steam room, and one guest bedroom. A six-car garage also located on the basement level allows to accommodate car collection of the future owner.
A contemporary floating glass-sided staircase connects the basement and first floor, culminating in the spacious second-floor foyer, with clerestory windows bathing the space in light from above. The foyer acts as a casual gathering place to the four of six ensuite bedrooms, many with stunning city-to-ocean-view terraces. The master suite is separated into a sitting room with a wet bar and fireplace, master bedroom, and master bathroom with a soaking tub and steam shower. To use the breathtaking view of the site, the master suite opens up to the wrap-around master terrace.
