This was a furniture ensemble I designed for the REAPAR contest. The requirements were to create new, contemporary objects, with today's technology, but had to be inspired from Romania's traditional folklore. I searched for some embroidered patterns, and when i found a form that could help me the most, with the creativity and design for a custom furniture set, I tried to get the most of it. The traditional pattern you see, is from one of Romania's oldest areas, Suceava county, in the Moldova area. I tried to use it as a countertop for a stool, engrave it in the countertop of the table, and in the backrest for the main chairs of the table. Also the legs of the table, have the same, stylized, design.
