Studio 302 is a high energy destination nightclub. The effort involves the renovation and reuse of an undistinguished building in a prominent location. The proposal had to accommodate and display a vintage, two-of-a-kind, neon Coke sign that is owned and maintained by the local arts council.
The plans call for a 350+ occupancy independently structured roof deck with a full outdoor bar, dance floor, and stage. Portions of the deck slice through the existing parapet and cantilever over the sidewalk, allowing patrons to see and be seen. The roof deck is accessible through an exclusive VIP lounge with sophisticated interactive lighting and video systems. The ground floor is laid out flexibly in order to host musical acts, DJ nights, and/or private parties. The exterior of the building is veiled in a stainless steel fabric intended to reorder the ill-proportioned facade. The fabric is back lit at night creating a light blue aura over the entire building.
