The student housing in the habour of Aarhus is
a simple and yet significant 12 high 2025
low-energy building. With solar panels on the roof and with solar panels and
solar cells on the facade facing Bernhardt Jensen Boulevard,
the building produces enough energy to
meet both heat and electricity consumption. The front facing
Bernhardt Jensen Boulevard
consists of a
large amount of solar cells integrated
as protection on the balconies. Here two balcony
guard binds together
and establish a frame, which corresponds well
with the framing of
the windows on the other three
facades, whilst leaving the facade a fine depth
and rhythm. The building has
a solid exterior in
a smooth, white High Performance Concrete. The majority of
homes are two-room apartments with
windows proportioned in different sizes and placed
in varied patterns.
The high degree of variation contributes to an even distribution of light in the room and an
eventful framing of the stunning views.
