Sabor a Miel is a building apartment in Playa del Carmen that comprises 17 apartments of one to three bedrooms, over a total five floors, a semi-basement parking level and a rooftop space with covered terrace, a pool, a gym overlooking the sea.
The volumetry and façades were designed with the aim of drawing breezes inside and providing protection from direction insolation, as the main passive sustainability strategies. Meanwhile, the circulation core fulfills several key functions: as a space for social encounter and identity for residents, an articulation of visual connection and access from the street, and to generate a chimney effect that promotes air flow throughout the building. All the building’s aspects are interrelated with a dual design intention established at the outset: to exploit the urban landscape of the location, characterized by views of the sea, and contribute an architectural image appropriate to the tradition of creativity that has distinguished Playa del Carmen as a tourist destination.
