This one-acre site is adjacent to 55 acres of open space along the hills above Highway 101. The design incorporates a principal house of 8,000 square feet, a guesthouse, swimming pool, landscaping and terraces. The trellis is a connecting element between the main house and the guest quarters. Partial walls are framed with glazing to complete the enclosures of rooms. The steepness of the site necessitated the use of spreading out along the contour of the hill so the height limit could be maintained. The views are across Mill Valley to the hills beyond. Solar technology will be incorporated into the roofs to accommodate the demand of the residential energy requirements.
