Stonefields is Auckland’s largest master planned community encompassing 110 hectares and providing 2,900 dwellings that will be home for 6,500 people. Surfacedesign, Inc.creating the Stonefields master plan and designing 9 neighborhood parks and a wetland reserve in consultation with Auckland City Council, Auckland Regional Council, local community boards and other key partners. The sustainable re-use of onsite materials such as Bluestone forms a major element of the hard landscape. The planting of pohutukawa trees along the boulevards, mimics the original lava flows, that helped to form the foundations of Stonefields.
