The goal for this existing residence was to design a more gradual ascension to the upper level from the street and provide a more usable entertaining deck for both the clients and their guests. The existing approach was an awkward hybrid of a switchback and a spiral stairs and the offset deck level had a jacuzzi that had not been used in years. The goal was to create a continuous single level entry deck and install a railing system that could maximize the view. This, along with the new stair configuration, makes for a much more user friendly space.
