A serene pocket-sanctuary in the heart of the city.
This simple garden pivots on the contrast between machined and recovered materials. Tensile wire and cast concrete stand in juxtaposition next to antique stone and improvised plantings. The center pathway divides two mounds which support intertwined grasses, liriope, and two hand-selected trees—Styrax obassia and Stewartia pseudocamellia.
The resulting garden—as well as the two distinctive rooftop spaces—creates a protected feeling and a sense of grounding and softness in the bustling city.
