Step Up On Vine is located in Hollywood, CA and provides 34 units of affordable housing to victims of homelessness who also suffer from mental illnesses.
The project consists of the renovation of a 1928 masonry building to include communal areas and dining facilities on the ground floor and residential units on the upper two floors. A new roof deck was added to provide an outdoor area for the tenants and an edible garden used for both classes and therapy.
The project's iconic yellow arc is evident throughout the project and symbolizes a welcoming embrace to the community and the buildings new tenants.
The project is certified LEED-Platinum and has been recognized by the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) as an 'innovative combination of sustainability and green practices with providing housing for individuals who are homeless and affected by mental illnesses'.
