The STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering + Mathematics) Centre is located in an existing building which required complete refurbishment to accommodate the new teaching facilities and achieve a BREEAM very good rating.
The project involved a new entrance, external cladding and curtain walling as well as a new floor level and lift internally. The centre provides 1200sqm of teaching, office, practical and circulation space.
Central to the philosophy of the college’s approach to STEM subjects is the provision of an Ideas Room which it is intended will provide an environment of open, self directed learning, fostering an enthusiasm toward innovative technologies and investigation in STEM.
