Placed in the north harbor of København, the Museum of Steel presents a stage for the possibilities of steel construction to be displayed. Acting as an exhibit for the steel industry to inform the public about steel construction the architecture shows the dichotomy that exists in the material methods of construction. Representing both traditional steel construction and new, more dynamic methods, the Museum of Steel’s interior bursts its contextual shell and frames views of both the past practices and new horizons of the future. Clad with a unique steel paneled system the Museum of Steel has a fluidity in its form encapsulated within a rigid frame, allowing light to be diffused and a spatial experience approaching the surreal.
