Starlite Festival is a summer music and gastronomic festival created after a fundraising social gala celebrated in Marbella for two years.The design was won by xsche* through a closed competition by Starlite developers. The concept used was a recovery of the past returning to the mountain an element from the sea. The concept is based on the premise that from this quarry the material was extracted for the construction of Puerto Banus. Now in the reuse of this space, we should seek to return to the quarry an element from the sea. That element turned to be the shipping containers that closed the space and were used as shops and restaurants and these being a sea claim in the mountains now. In the center of the space a dancing area was created with an axis created by palm trees, a platform for shows. The space is also completed with a VIP area done with a ephimere 2 floor structure used in large events, which gave a interesting contrast between the oll and used containers with the luxury and new of a one of a kind structure.The contrast between used and new, creates a unique play space that blends perfectly with the concept of luxury and decadence that for many represent Marbella.
