Project Goals
The Town of Standish required an addition to the existing Public Works Garage to contain offices and training space for the department employees. The addition was to meet modern energy standards and all applicable codes. The client’s modest goals were a reflection of budget constraints and awareness of public perception of municipal spending.
Challenges and Solutions
During the course of the design process Bild Architecture determined that the design could be achieved at a more affordable and attractive state by re-configuring the addition location. Bild was able to significantly improve the resulting project beyond the client’s initial expectations, and the resulting design is modest and pleasing, with good value.
