This feature staircase was designed to impress at the Williams Formula One visitors centre in Oxfordshire.
The remit was to create an engineered look with particular attention to the finish and detail that compliments the success of the Williams Team.
Each baluster post was laser cut with elliptical profiled holes to increase the engineered feel. The box section supports from the stringers to the underside of the treads were welded to a standard rarely seen. The treads were formed using 6mm thick mild steel plate, reinforced and then wrapped in satin polished stainless steel. All the corners were welded and polished to look like it was formed in of one complete process.
At all stages during design, the expertise of Elite Metalcraft were heavily relied upon to come up with practical solutions and ideas to enable the design to exceed everyone’s expectation.
