The project “Stadele rooms” forms an addition to the renowned Stadele Restaurant in the village of Lana.
The new building, which houses the rooms, is located in a very narrow space between the restaurant and the owner’s home, both different in age, function and architectural language. Like a well-studied puzzle piece, the building slots into its densely build context.
Freed from all decorative elements, the sharply cut concrete monolith becomes the gem itself. Space-defining balcony boxes climb up its light, velvet-hard concrete façade.
Its interior stands in stark contrast to the exterior: here colors, images and materials unfold exuberantly. Inspired by the adjoining Stadele Restaurant, eight spices form the main themes for the rooms interiors. What is it like to sleep emersed in ginger, to shower under star anis or relax in a juniper ambience? It’s wonderful!
In the small hotel lobby, the colors and textures of the single spices come together, creating a fascinating blend, reminiscing the atmosphere of an oriental bazaar. A true pleasure to all senses.
