St. Vincent Fishers Hospital

YEAR
2013
SIZE
100,000 sqft - 300,000 sqft
The expansion of St. Vincent Fishers Hospital in Fishers, Indiana features 48 inpatient beds to accommodate the explosive growth of the central Indiana community. Patient care was the focus of the hospital’s Center for Women and Infants which features decentralized waiting rooms and nurse stations that are proximate to patient rooms. New labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum (LDRP) suites offer restroom amenities, labor tubs and rocking chairs for expectant mothers to labor comfortably. The LDRP suites include a workstation for staff, pull-down Murphy beds for family members and a built-in infant warmer cabinet with dedicated med gases and bassinets. This allows the mother and child to spend the entire birthing process in the same room. The project team is using LifeStructures Metrics to measure the success of the design. The building is seeking LEED for Healthcare certification and is expected to be the first LEED-HC certified hospital in Indiana.
