Green Bay, WI, United States

YEAR
2010
SIZE
100,000 sqft - 300,000 sqft
Adding a three story addition to St. Mary’s Hospital provided the opportunity to give the facility not only a regional cancer center, but also a new main entrance, all designed to be consistent with the new branding of the Hospital Sisters Health System. The environmentally sustainable cancer center offers what the owner refers to as “state-of-the-art HOPE; the best in cancer treatment, technology and compassionate care, enhanced by beautiful greenery to inspire” and help heal patients.

The Addition’s third level provides entry to the largest green roof in Wisconsin. Benches line 2,400 square feet of paths amongst 22,000 square feet of succulent plants. In addition to providing a peaceful space to view nature, the “living roof” reduces the heat-island effect of a large roof, and helps to reduce noise levels in and around the building.
