The second phase of the project, Phase 2B, broke ground for construction in April of 2012. This includes a new Surgical suite with 14 state of the art Operating Rooms, a PACU/Pre-Induction Area and dedicated two story Surgical Waiting room. The PACU/Pre-Induction area was designed for flexibility so bays can be used by patients either pre or post-op depending on the time of day and patient volumes. The two story surgical waiting room has expansive views of the city’s north side, including an outdoor balcony area to provide positive distractions during a stressful time. The patient tower above the surgical suite contains a thirty-eight bed Intensive Care Unit and two thirty six bed Medical/Surgical patient units.
