Natural elements and a soothing water feature provide a calming environment in a typically high stress area. The full-height windows provide a connection to the outside while an earth-tone palett e adds warmth and avoids the typical sterile white hospital environment. The addition creates a new, dedicated public entrance, improves facility security, features 13-15 treatment rooms; and a comfortable, child friendly lobby/waiting area. The facility’s state-of-the-art design includes a large central nursing/physicians area with surrounding treatment rooms so staff can monitor and respond quickly to patients’ needs. As the only emergency service in the county open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, this expansion provides an increase in patient treatment areas and staff support spaces while supporting improved operational efficiencies and more than doubling the existing Emergency Room.
