The St. Clair Beach Retirement Community completed for Signature Living in 2013 is a four story, 115 suite independent living facility for seniors. It is located on 2.8 acres of waterfront land on the shore of Lake St. Clair in Tecumseh, Ontario. The property was part of a former golf course and was one of the few undeveloped waterfront lands left in the Town of Tecumseh. The entire waterfront land consisted of approximately 9.7 acres including 950 feet of shoreline. Directly west of the retirement residence property, the Town of Tecumseh development a picturesque municipal park on the remaining 6 acre portion of the waterfront land. The vistas to the new park and to Lake St. Clair provide a tranquil natural setting for this elegant seniors residence. This spacious retirement residence features amenities such as a pool, restaurant style dining room, bistro, theatre/chapel, hair salon, fitness room, and activity room.
A large indoor Pavilion offers a snack bar, billiard/games area, and a peaceful Library. Each program area and gathering space was carefully designed to respond to possible physical limitations of the residents, and to provide accessibility, comfort and safety throughout the seniors residence. Durable and elegant finishes were carefully considered and coordinated throughout the facility. The stunning secluded landscaped property warmly envelopes the building, and includes an outdoor pergola and patio gathering space, planting beds for seniors to garden, a walking path that ties into the neighbourhood park. Many of the existing trees were kept and included in the landscape features on the property to give it a mature feel.
