Its interior destroyed by fire in early 2014, St. Anthony’s Church sanctuary rose from the ashes with restored statuary and Stations of the Cross, new decorative arts, refinished pews, and fully modernized lighting, while preserving the beauty and heritage of the historic church. Brighter finishes featuring hardwood, cork, and tile tastefully relate to the main body of the church and foster a peaceful and spiritual setting. A new baptismal font is located in the center aisle and serves as a symbol of welcome. Lilker Lighting Group provided a design in which lighting hardware is concealed from view by the open trusswork and apsidal arch and provides dramatic accent lighting of architectural surfaces, artworks, and liturgical objects. Historic lanterns have been restored and retrofitted with new, energy-efficient lighting.
