Sprint wished to develop a flagship store to showcase their products, services and the Sprint experience in a state-of-the-art retail showroom. The ultimate goals were to provide an entertaining space and an educational environment that would project the company’s values as well as promote visitor/customer interaction.
The entire retail area is on an access floor system allowing total flexibility of fixture layout. Also for complete flexibility, a theatre style lighting system was installed, providing control over light direction, color, shape and intensity throughout the space. A large rectangular scrim hangs in the center of the showroom, acting as a projection surface and giving the space a theatrical feel. Product displays and infographics are situated within unique fixtures throughout the space, and sophisticated, interactive, digital game boards that show users the Sprint story are featured prominently in the center of the space. Rich walnut wall finishings, polished concrete floor tiles and steel columns create a high-tech, high-style feel that compliments Sprint’s drive to be the leader in the telecommunications industry.
The 5,500 square foot facility has been a top performing retail location since it opened in the Kansas City Power & Light District in 2008. The Sprint Studio has served as a test center for new retail concepts, many of which have found their way into the company’s retail stores nationwide. Thousands of visitors have enjoyed the interactive displays and open environment, as well as the sales and service center at this flagship retail location.
