The hotel is located on the side of a picturesque countryside, with abundant natural hot spring water resource. With the concept of "Spring Water of Song Dynasty", it seeks traditional wisdom from Song paintings,and creates a pleasant space in Song style aesthetics. The reciprocal and delicate integration of architectural form, bathing space, and landscape creates a transcendent atmosphere and spiritual experience.
The architectural layout naturally unfolds along the lake, like a Song painting,stretched and compact, full of rhythm. The architectural texture embraces and interacts with nature and landscape. The design draws elements from ancient Chinese paintings and uses modern techniques to enhance, with courtyards, gardens, and paths as the core to form a spatial hierarchy of varied scenery. It arranges unexpected encounters between humans and nature on the main path, interpreting the beauty of the East in the context of modern architecture.
The roof extends along the lake, undulating and swinging, like a group of mountains by the lake. This comes from the technique of integrating architecture and mountains in Song paintings. Through deep eaves and wooden frames, it creates the ultimate beauty of simplicity and tranquility in Song paintings. Undulating terrain paired with bamboo forests and rockeries, it forges deep and secluded environment like Song Dynasty landscape paintings, concealing hot spring pools, enable enjoying the relax and comfort of soaking and self oblivious.
Emphasizing the modern application of traditional materials, the hotel is surrounded by carbonized wood veneer and weather resistant wood grid, using a natural material texture to conceal the volume, and seek a humble and familial spatial temperament. Respecting the natural expression of materials, combined with the selected plants, each stone presents the sedimentation and changes of seasons, expressing the highly integrated Eastern philosophy of human and nature, and Song style classical artistic conception.
