The brief for this replacement 9,000sqft dwelling was to create a striking new home to make better use of this private but prominent site within a Conservation Area.
Planning approval was obtained swiftly in 2021 as an iteration of a previously approved scheme on this site also designed by Halliday Clark.
The existing dwelling was poorly positioned in the darkest corner of the site, with the internal spaces equally failing to make use of the light and views available on this site.
The new residential dwelling places the key internal spaces in the optimum areas of the site, and takes the vehicle access and parking around the western side of the site.
Materials used include smooth ashlar stone, which offers a contrast against the handmade long format clay bricks, and carefully detailed zinc trims complement and complete the main apexes.
