T3 Team has recently designed KOKOIS Concept Store which is a cafe, bistro and lounge combined with a retail store.
The project consists of the renovation of a simple warehouse, to make it bright and more spacious (addition of a mezzanine) with a nice and busy cafe at the front and a cozy and quiet lounge in the backyard garden. The concept is a mix between industrial and “recovery” style but bringing a Feminine atmosphere to the whole project: color, shape, comfort, food…
T3 Team has also considered the consumption of energy in that project, following bioclimatic principles to minimize the use of Air Conditioning by: limiting the surface with AC, promoting natural ventilation by opening largely both facades, insulating the existing roof with palm leaves and creating a ventilation system at the upper part of this roof, installing fans to bring comfort for customers during hot season.
T3 decided to use water palm leaves as a “secondary” roof above the existing metal panels’ roof, to create a double ventilated roof, as to protect the building from sun exposure, as well as from the noise of heavy rain (important issue under Tropical climate).
In terms of Landscape design, T3 designed several pergolas used both for shadow and as a support of vegetation (to bring freshness and tropical feeling). At the back of the Building, T3 created an outdoor lounge area but with the possibility to cover in case of rain (with a sliding roof).
All furniture (made by metal, cement tiles, hardwood, fiber cement board, foam and fabric) and decorative lighting have been specially designed by T3 Team for KOKOIS. All metal works have been tailor made by local contractor, especially the polished metal boxes on the bar’s wall (both aesthetic and practical) and the 2 bars (Lounge Bar and Juice bar within a container). Graphic design was made by Ash Graphix, in perfect adequacy with the Interior Design Concept in terms of color palette and general atmosphere.
Enjoy! T3 Architecture Asia Team....
