Green Cabinet designed modular cargotecture Space Cabins to meet the housing needs of students at the University of Tamale in Ghana. These comfortable and durable cabins are the result of transforming locally manufactured containers into solar powered homes. The solar panels can be removed to be charged during the day and stored at night. They allow students to be independent by providing a self-sufficient energy supply. The local government has expressed their enthusiasm about the project and has responded positively to the implementation of the Space Cabins. The Space Cabins project aims to set an example for the whole African continent.
