This project involves the complete renovation to the 1st floor of an existing house plus a 400 square foot sun room addition. The owner wanted a home that was open and modern yet retained the ability to close off one space from another for privacy and intimacy.
To achieve this goal, walls feature large openings for visual and physical connections between spaces. Additionally, the entire back wall of the sunroom and kitchen features two operable glazed walls to open the interior space to the patio and landscape beyond, creating numerous options for indoor/outdoor entertaining.
The stair was redesigned and features a new walnut and blackened steel handrail. Direct vent gas fireplaces serve as focal points in the sunroom and living room. The family room features a wood burning fireplace with a limestone hearth and tile surround. Other finishes include straight-grained walnut cabinetry, white quartz countertops, a glass tile backsplash, and slate floors.
