RAFI has donated $45,000 of architectural design services to design this project. The museum consists of three restored railroad cars that will take passengers on a two and a half mile ride around the city.
RAFI designed a passenger platform that will consist of four pre-manufactured buildings to be a ticket booth, gift shop, office and restrooms. The platform is designed to reflect the aesthetic of the railroad cars and to give visitors the experience of days past. The platform will be constructed of pre-cast concrete pavers and edge curbing. Restrooms, a parking lot and landscaping was provided to enhance the overall facility. The project cost is estimated to be $2,000,000.
In 2009 RAFI was contracted by the Nevada State Public Works Board to design and plan new ADA restroom addition for the South Nevada Railroad Museum.
