Our new studio space is open concept and full of natural light with operable windows, yet private and collaborative. Studio 27 Architecture designed the fit-out in keeping with the historic integrity by expressing the original materiality, and given the historic nature of the Daniel H. Burnham-designed building, the massive original steel columns are intentionally revealed and the terrazzo left in tact. A history of early twentieth century construction is celebrated in this renovation within one of DC’s most significant structures – the Southern Office building.
