The scheme for South City Prime required designing an intimate
and luxurious atmosphere appropriate for fine dining. Color was used
strategically to frame the entry to the bar from the main dining room, to
heighten drama in the private dining room with bold, oversized red pendant lamp
shades, and to add a spike of orange vibrancy to the bar area. Warm but
neutral-colored light in the main dining room plays up the appearance of the
food, in contrast with the more lively colors of the bar and lounge. Grazing light
plays up the texture of the white leather quilted walls and the sparkle of the
elaborate three-tiered chandelier. Reflection is used to create a multi-faceted
effect at the entry, and also to create depth and draw attention to the wine
collection display housed in one of the dining area’s walls.
