IN OBSERVING NATURAL LIFE CYCLES, THE TOO-OFTEN DEAD WEIGHT OF HOUSING ARCHITECTURE BECOMES EVIDENT AND ITS POTENTIAL TO BECOME AN ACTIVE ORGANISM IN THE URBAN ECOSYSTEM IS UNVEILED. This proposal offers an alternative to the permanence of architecture and the inflexibility of impermeability in a rapidly evolving context. Each unit acts as an organ within the greater whole. From the bones, to the kidneys, to the liver, and finally the skin. Ultimately, the building seeks to accomplish the defining characteristics of living organisms and organic matter: life and death. A multitude of theoretical architectural systems, derived from extensive research into existing materials and methods, are incorporated into each living unit. Each system is carefully considered for the complex tasks at hand. They must be capable of an organic lifecycle while still promising to support a lifestyle.
