Antonio Sofán is a practitioner architect founding principal of the design firm studio DOSESE in Bogotá, Colombia. He completed a 5 year Bachelor Degree in Architecture at Javeriana University and got his Masters of Architecture Degree from Pratt Institute in New York, USA. He is an AIA Member Registered Architect in the State of New York and LEED accredited Professional.
His determination to understand architectural context and its relation to the end user has brought him to explore new design strategies so that concept and form engage more organically to sustainability and the environment.
The firm adopted his design work signature from his earlier work in the United States revealing common themes and repeating motifs that synthesize his varied aesthetic interests.
In recent years, an increasing attention in the very basics of Architecture such as the experience of occupation, the perception of the human body moving through space progressively as well as the processes and performance of buildings has challenge the status of the architectural form, dissolving distinctions between the building and ground, object and field.
