The old building is enclosed into a structural shell to create an oversize indoor space. The space is used as a foyer at the original entrance level of the cinema and on its roof there is a new 'square' for receptions or just simply as a public space. The overhanging body on top of square is an exclusive restaurant and a media library. The new height of the building with the variety of viewing points makes it the perfect spot for viewing Moscow. At the same time it will be possible to see the building from far away as it becomes a new important landmark. The façade is realized in Corian for the solid parts and in Dupont structural glass for the transparency. The south façade and the roof are covered with ‘thin film’ solar panels which allows solar shading as well as translucency. This will provide all the necessary energy for the façade and the lighting of the space. Finally,, the road originally running in front of the building closed to traffic and a long ramp provides the access to the building from the garden. On the North side ramps link the outside and the foyer to the roof terrace.
