Solestice is a collector-aimed sneaker store in New York City’s historic East Harlem neighborhood.
Inspired by the sci-fi classic 2001 Space Odyssey and the round outline of a basketball hoop from atop, the narrow footprint of the 527sqft store leads customers through the products by a set of sleek, white gold arcs that circle around the full space. The lighting is created by integrating LED strips into the looping arcs.
The arcs carve eclipse-like into the vertical shoe shelves to reveal the shoes. The curved acrylic mirror behind the cashwrap introduces a warped illusion while making the space appear bigger. A floating, arc shaped apparel rack completes the concept.
