The Greenland mixed use project includes office tower, “creative” office buildings, hotels, residences, shopping mall, retail streets, parks, and plazas on a northern on Chengdu’s 2nd ring road. Li Bai’s poem “Night Thoughts” served as a key design inspiration. He writes of how the moonlight transformed his familiar surroundings into frost and directed his thoughts home. The plan has two foci, the solar court and the iconic moon tower. The ensemble of buildings orbit around the solar court. Pedestrian circulation is defined by these orbits, fluidly connecting program in plan and section.
