This 2500 s.f. duplex apartment in Soho took two existing apartments and merged them into one. The design of the connecting stair was critical in terms of joining the two spaces, as well as introducing a source of natural light into an otherwise windowless center room. Glass doors to the adjacent bedroom and office space further illuminate providing a diffuse atmosphere. The upper floor was designed to maintain the original loft openness. The introduction of a large glass sliding door and new exterior terrace complements this expanse of space. The lower floor was laid out for three bedrooms, three baths and a home office.
