The new Södra Tennis Center follows the idea of "liberating" street level public space exploring at the same time the possibility of a wooden multi-storey building system. The building rises from ehxisting outdoor tennis courts preserving the area's landscape layout.
In order to gradually erect several tennis centers at different locations, less plot area will be needed for the new building and greater plot area will be available for other construction developments as the building's tennis playing area is divided in two boxes positioned one above the other. Both boxes have great exterior views during tennis matches or other events.
Lower wooden facades have the opportunity of publicity or images appliances that are more visible during the day as at night they loose intensity due to interior lighting, enhancing therefore the wooden structural solution of the building. Optimizing the indoor tennis ceiling height regulations a middle floor is designed to host all services and personnel area, allowing indoor and outdoor court view from several diferent spaces such as the office area, gymnasium or instruction room.
