This public social housing provides 540 housing units for youth. The main concept is to connect a small water front park at east and public open space at west by creating an ecology landscaping court yard and open it to neighborhood.
All space is designed with universal principle and provide 5% (26 units) for handicap users for taking care all condition’s users. The project also achieves local Green Building Certificate in golden level, Intelligent Building Certificate in silver level and full BIM involve. Which means this project has sustainability, energy saving, , user friendly, and intelligent maintenance.
To fit in the site environment and create more friendly public space, the project uses four significant elements:
The South entrance with large scale staircase which could be an entrance icon connects to courtyard and second & third floors’ public space. The west connect bridge at third floor linking two single buildings which could be a gate image for the community, also an ecology walkway with rainwater garden for residents. The east amphitheater connecting the waterfront park to second floor youth creative office.
The three-floor high open space at each wing of housing units creating a social space with green to copy the traditional community pubic space.
The most special concept is an experimental unit which provide 26 single rooms with sharing kitchen and co-living living room, work shop and vegetable garden to practice the co-living idea.
The double L shape site layout is good for creating micro climate. The two floors recess at roof with roof garden makes the skyline soft. The light color exterior wall mixed with tile, paint, and metal expanded mesh to reveal modern architecture language. A unique deep orange color used at those mentioned significant space to highlight the public atmosphere and become the icon of this project.
