The waterfront area of Rio de Janeiro has recently been one of the focus of urban studies and speculation. With the perspective of Brazil housing the FIFA World Cup in 2014 and Rio de Janeiro the Olympic Games in 2016, this site must have great changing in the next few years.Our terrain is situated in very special location, right between the bay shore and the Morra da Conceição, an historical site close to the downtown area. And therefore, we could detect an interesting situation: there was clearly an edge between the two urban tissues! As if there was an invisible wall separating this deferent organisms, their activities were totally apart from each other.The propose developed has its main party based on the idea of an open and permeable block, that could offer to the inhabitants of this complex a new experience of connection and ownership of the public space. Another party was to search for the minimum units for a comfortable living, in a variety of individuals ways of life: nuclear family, students, couples, etc.
