Social Haus is a luxurious culinary experience set deep in the woods of Montana. A unique resort surrounded by rivers, mountains, ponderosa pine and even buffalo, our directive was to craft imagery that evokes the experience of the unique location and design.
We began by planting the fully 3D world with a canopy of pines and an arid forest floor of low shrubs indicative of the local flora. The word that kept coming to mind was ‘gloam.’ For our studio it is a word that evokes mystery, dappled light, the crunch of branches as an elk passes by, barely out of sight allong with everything else you get in the forest just after sunset. It’s the time when light gets soft, animals start to move, and the woods wake up.
The dark and moody interiors are shown in daylight to amplify the contrasting materials that create a den-like experience for the resort goers at any time of day.
We tied the project together with a short animation, evoking the spirit of the green O resort and design of Mutuus Studio.
