“Smallish” is an urban fill little house. The lot 24x60ft is very small within its context. This project was built on stilts wit a large cantileverIng front using structural steel and wood to obtain a floating effect that leaves the whole ground floor open for alternative uses to parking. The house is small but spatial design was prioritized over maximizing square footage, by leaving double height space over the living room. This also provides a mezzanine office space, and the home’s interior feels more like a loft. Walls were angled to provide usable spaces and “airy” perspectives instead of corridors and the whole interiors have natural light providing an ethereal atmosphere.
