The compositional principles of the pier museum aim to the creation of an open democratic space. An urban space which is able to accommodate an areal depiction of the course and presence of the Cuban people in Miami, but at the same time remains undefined from this function, ready to be used as an open and free area of the city. Searching for a way to achieve those attributes, the composition selected and borrowed its basic characteristics from the ultimate free and undefined space: the sea.In essence the composition of the museum can be described as a tree shaped complex of platforms hanging from a horizontal roof, casting their shadow on the lower part of a habitable man made reef. collaborator: Grigori Vegliri
