The Slice House is a comfortable home of 400 Squarefeet. The house is an extruded box from which slices were cut to reduce the square footage and create an intelligent and beautiful house. Cuts into the basic form reveal its shape and functions.This small house consists of a basement floor, the first floor for the first inhabitant and the second floor, which contained space for a second inhabitant.The competition requested sleeping, bathing, cooking, living, working, studying, and storage areas. First, we felt that all these rooms could not fit in this small building.In these cases, a standard procedure employed by the architects is to reduce the number of rooms by making one multi purpose room. We tried another way!We created multi-functional walls. These walls contains the furniture. The furniture is adapted to the design of the building.In addition the size of each room was reduced. In this way, all the rooms in this building would fit and the comfort of living together in small space could be created.The wall-elements can be replaced with other prefabricated wall-elements, so the building can adapt to different climate zones.The construction of the building is made up of timber framing. The outside and inside cladding is made of bioplastic hydropur.Hydropur is a sustainable material, which is made of renewable ressources.
