Second place winner of an international competition for the Royal Institute of British Architects, Sky Filter is a sustainable state-of-the-art workplace. Housed in a striking low building that sweeps around the corner of a roundabout site, the curved design creates a stunning light-filled courtyard. The sleek form is partially covered by a green roof and clad with sustainable wood louvers that provide shading and a visual connection to its wooded site. The luminous courtyard, the heart of a 21st century collaborative workplace, is covered by a fritted glass roof that is operable for natural ventilation in mild weather. Special attention was given for inclusion of amenities to compensate for the building’s rural location.
