This Guest house completed construction in September 2010. It was designed as a contemporary adaption of Spanish styling and created 550 sq. ft. of artist studio, 750 sq. ft. of library and over 1400 sq. ft. of patio and second floor roof deck. At night lighting features enhance the architectural elements featuring elements such as slots carved within the structural columns and embedded wall stones. The upstairs bathroom is placed as an ephemeral object in the middle of the artist space in order to free up as much display wall space as possible. Heating and air conditioning are integrated into recessed picture frames for this same purpose. The lower garage doors are hand crafted out of Ipe wood and facilitate the dual use of the lower space as either an extension of the library or closed to frame an outdoor sitting area.
