The siting plan for this Hybrid OR involves conversion of one of the original primary operating rooms, adjacent storage and x-ray control, as well as an adjacent anesthesia work room into the 1,445 SF Hybrid Operating Suite, that includes an operating room a control and equipment room. The design plan also involves renovation of 1,070 SF of space in the PACU for relocation of the anesthesia work room, storage, and other related procedure areas.
Construction is being sequenced to maintain surgical support functions and to assure that other operating rooms can continue in use with the required level of infection prevention and with minimized interruption due to building service/utility alterations.
Air handling equipment serving the majority of the surgery suite is also being replaced to achieve the necessary air exchange rates for the new Hybrid OR and to provide the required service for imaging equipment computer electronics.
