Max Hamburger Restaurants won the competition for site development rights in Sollentuna with a building designed by Lomar Arkitekter. We were pleased to receive the following praise:
”This is a small building which generates a positive architectonic attitude, due to its rounded elliptical shape. The combination of the strong form, dark colors, expansive glazing, and color accents make this building a visual landmark in the surrounding landscape. The proposal has a carefully composed landscape plan which succeeds in accommodating a large number of vehicles, outdoor dining spaces, play areas, and attractive vegetation. The choice of exterior materials, including dark concrete and glass, combined with the rounded shape, creates a compact ”power station” which is a very solid addition to a landscape mostly devoid of visual clarity. This proposal is so architectonically independent that it would suffer from being burdened with too much signage. The proposed fast food restaurant use, with extended hours of operation, will be good for the area.”
