This project intention was to develop a single family house, located in the centre of Parede, Cascais, in a plot with a longitudinal configuration. In this particular case, we believed that the construction should follow the alignments of adjoining building, namely the facade plans, the height and the construction volumetry. The new housing should promote a dialogue between the attached construction housing in a matter of contrast, by the construction method used, the metric in coating and treatment given to window openings and all the facades.
Shielded by a small patio, area of car parking and pedestrian access to the house, the new construction is developed on three floors above the ground level, releasing on the rear part of the plot a green exterior area, which is in direct relationship with the social spaces of the house.
At level 0 we have the social spaces of the housing. Through a central corridor that serves as the entrance hall, also makes the distribution for the different areas and floor levels of the house. The left side of the corridor there are the kitchen and laundry areas. In front, the living room is an ample space that establishes a close relationship with the outside garden. On the right side, we have the staircase for the upper floors - the private spaces of the house.
Reaching the first floor, we have the two master bedrooms with their own sanitary facility. Both rooms are naturally lit by openings located in East and West facades, and an interior garden was created to channel natural light and provide ventilation to the sanitary facilities of both bedrooms.
The second floor consists of a single space, also a bedroom with a bathroom. Both areas enjoy natural lighting and a close relationship with a terrace facing west overlooking the garden on the ground floor.
